Introduction
In George Orwell’s novel 1984, corruption is present among different societal classes. We see this similar corruption within our world today. It has been over a year since the Ferguson riots last summer, and since then, tensions have risen in a nationwide conflict between different races and beliefs. Race, religion, and ethnicity have divided the country into differing groups, subjecting them to discrimination and prejudice. Because of this, separation has increased to an extent that limits the capabilities and potential for those under oppression. Corruption among subsections of society causes discrimination and class separation among inhabitants overall diminishing potential and achievement.
